The Arches Condominiums

In December 2019, Whitestone acquired a historic church building and single-family residence at 201 & 105 Grandin Rd in Charlotte, NC 28208, in the heart of desirable “FREE-MORE-WEST”. The location is ideal as it is walking distance to Uptown Charlotte and 200 yards from the new Gold Line Streetcar station stop at Wesley Heights Way and Trade Street. Whitestone along with the neighborhood and historic district are all extremely excited for the vision and proposition of creating an Adaptive Re-use project out of the historic site rather than demolition. This aligns with the desire to maintain the historic character of the building and neighborhood. We received approval for rezoning to the MUDD District to be developed into 15 condo residential units with the addition of a new construction building which will be home of 3 of the 15 units. Furthermore, in September of 2020 the developer received Historic District approval for the elevation and site plans. A full set of building permits have been obtained as of early 2022 and the project is underway.                                                        

In working with several seasoned and Charlotte renowned partners such as Urban Design Partners (engineering), Cluck (architecture), and Fairwood Builders as the GC, Whitestone is moving forward with plans to build out the site as 15 residential units for sale, offering a mix of 2-5 bedrooms (some with offices) and 2-3 bath units, range of 1,200 – 1,800 sq ft units priced from the upper $500’s range. One of the 15 units has already been completed. The community provides on-site parking and many units will offer rooftop terraces with city skyline views! Site work and development is underway and will be completed by the end of 2022.
